Random Ramblings

So much to post about! Tuesday I had another horse back riding lesson and just about killed myself. Okay, so it wasn't that bad. I'll rephrase it: Tuesday I had another horse back riding lesson and just about flew over Star Wars's (the horse) head each time I jumped. So, because of frantically clinging to his neck, mane, and reigns each time we tumbled (literally!) over a jump, my arms were impossibly sore the whole week. Also, once he stopped with his front feet on one side of the jump and his back feet still on the other side! Wednesday we went to a Civil War talk. Friday we went to a friend's house for supper and stayed till eleven! Saturday we made quilts with friends. Today, Sunday, we went to church and when we came home, we watched the movie "The Mysterious Islands". Three things I like about it: cinematography, animals, and the message! It is getting late here and I should go to bed!

Veteran's Day - A Little Late!

Okay - I know this is sorta late - but I wanted to thank all of our veterans who have served our country and their families who may have lost loved ones who were defending our freedom and liberty. 

Here are a few poems I wrote:

Never Forget Those Who Served:

I wish to pause for a moment,

And take time to remember.

Those who fought so dearly,

And even perhaps died.

They did it for us,

To protect our freedom,

To protect our liberty.

I wish to pause for a moment,

And take time to remember,

Those families and friends,

Who lost one to the war.

They lost him to a cruel war,

For he fought for our freedom,

He fought for our liberty.

The Flag:

When I look into that Flag,

That flies o'er the land of the free,

I see a picture of Freedom,

A symbol of Liberty.

When I look into that Flag,

I see men and boys fighting,

Fighting a gruesome war,

A war for independence.

When I look into that Flag,

I see red stripes of the blood,

Of those forefathers , Oh so brave,

Who fought and died for me.

When I look into that Flag,

I see white stripes of Freedom,

Bought for a high price,

The price of red stripes.

When I look into that Flag,

I see the blue of brave men,

The Forefathers who fought and died,

So you and I could be free.

When I look into that Flag,

I see white stars of Peace,

Peace of the states and country,

Fifty states united.

Random Ramblings

I really should post more often! Well, I have been busy lately sewing costumes for Reformation Day, but that is over now. Tomorrow I am supposed to have my first group riding lesson, so I'm hoping it won't rain too much. Last week when I was supposed to have it the field that we would have been using was flooded, so I had to wait another week. I will try to post again about my lesson after I have it - who knew jumping could be so fun?

My two brothers and I have already started listening to Christmas music - Daniel listens to it on my iPod or MP3 player whenever I let him. He actually likes to listen to anything on it but his favorites are: Doug Phillips, Charlie Zahm, and The Widow's Might Soundtrack - well I geuss that is just about all I have on there. I can't really blame him for liking any of those :)!
